“Artistic Knowledge Production”
I don’t like this term.
I don’t like ‘knowledge production’ because it places ‘knowledge’ amongst terminology including standardization, efficiency and quantifiability. If we are experiencing the rise of the ‘knowledge economy’ then this term will be of vital importance.
I don’t like the term ‘artistic knowledge production’.
It makes me feel slimy, sleezy, dull and greedy. It makes a creative process seem like a bureaucratic one rather than a transformative one.
But we can keep discussing it…
